Good investigation skills require excellent quality training and years of experience to master. When a complaint occurs, the investigator’s role is to be truly independent and impartial, to determine what has happened and get to the truth without bias. Getting the right investigator in place is crucial. If you have a particularly sensitive complaint, due to conflicts of interest or potential bias, or even lack of in-house skills or resources, you may wish to consider outsourcing your investigation to a fully independent investigator. This will enable you to draw conclusions fairly, investigate with rigor and avoid unnecessary legal costs and organisational risks.
Oftentimes, organisations can blunder into investigations or draw conclusions about complaints without the necessary and skills and analysis. I have many years experience working in investigator both in-house as the client and independently.
I have significant experience in investigating discipline, grievance and misconduct matters. I also specialise in safeguarding and sexual misconduct investigation and sexual harassment cases. My other work has included the areas of bullying. discrimination harassment and victimisation.

My previous investigations have included workplace investigations involving employees and also volunteers. I have also worked extensively in investigations involving positions of trust such as coaches, teachers and licensed persons. My investigation experience has primarily been in the sports, charity, higher education sectors, as well as police service.
